You can honor them by sponsoring their application to be inducted into the International Forest of Friendship!
Your nominee will be honored at the ceremony in September, and an engraved stone with their name will be added to the walkways that wind through the Forest.

Submit the online Sponsor Application Form or download the PDF version in the Downloads section below and mail/e-mail the completed form and supporting documents to the Forest.
Sponsor Obligation for Payment: Payment of $450.00 by check/mail or PayPal to the International Forest of Friendship must be submitted for each Honoree. This amount supplements the purchase of the stone, the engraving of the stone with the honoree's name, the placement of the stone, and forest maintenance.

You will receive a receipt as official confirmation of acceptance for each Honoree.

Janet Patton of Denton, TX has been flying airplanes for 37 years. Since joining the 99s in 1988, she has held many leadership positions. Her current roles are Ambassador Chapter Chair and International Director. Currently, she is a Boeing 777 pilot, having previously served as a 737 Captain for American Airlines and is based at DFW. She also owns Patton Aviation in Denton, TX and is a Piper Cherokee 180 owner and a Commercial pilot in hot air balloons. Janet’s biggest aviation accomplishment to date was becoming Spirit Airlines first woman pilot and first woman Captain in the 1990s. Having been a single mom for over 10 years, both Janet’s children are 99s and pilots - fittingly, one airplane pilot and one hot air balloon pilot. Having been at American Airlines for nearly 25 years, Janet is looking forward to upgrading to Boeing 777 Captain in the near future.
